BESS Operations Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead troubleshooting and technical investigations into battery energy storage system faults
• Conduct detailed root cause analyses of electrical, thermal, and control-system failures
• Travel to operating sites to assess equipment conditions and support field troubleshooting
• Coordinate and validate BESS data collection for accurate reporting of performance indicators
• Collaborate with performance engineers to evaluate portfolio-wide trends and recommend upgrades
• Monitor and manage battery storage warranties in collaboration with asset managers

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's or PhD preferred
• At least five years of engineering experience in utility-scale power generation or energy storage
• Strong technical understanding of BESS architectures and components
• Ability to assess differences between OEM technologies and system architectures
• Demonstrated experience leading root cause analyses for complex failures
• Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting BESS telemetry and historian data
