Bill Pay Counsel

📋 Description

• Partner with engineering, design, and product teams on bill pay/payments features.
• Provide pragmatic advice on money transmission requirements for existing and new products.
• Advise on regulatory implications of product architecture and payment flows.
• Advise cross-functional partners on money transmission regulatory questions.
• Track US and international money transmission laws and regulatory changes.
• Draft and maintain customer agreements, terms, and disclosures for bill pay.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years in law firms and fintech, advising on money transmission and regulated financial products.
• Familiarity with money transmission laws/regulations, licensing, BSA/AML, EFTA/Reg E, NACHA, disclosures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for memos, guides, and customer agreements.
• Ownership mentality and comfort with complex matters requiring sound judgment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Law degree and admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
