CDI Consultant

📋 Description

• Audit inpatient medical records to validate coding accuracy and clinical validity
• Validate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignments, and reimbursement documentation
• Identify documentation gaps and inconsistencies in clinical records
• Develop compliant physician queries
• Collaborate with physicians on DRG changes and clinical validation
• Prepare evidence-based audit findings using official coding guidelines

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or RN credential
• CCDS, CDIP, or CCS certification with active RN license or RHIA credential
• At least five years of experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist or in CDI program
• At least five years of healthcare management experience or two years of CDI consulting experience
• Strong understanding of CDI program infrastructure and workflows
• Expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and MS-DRG reimbursement
