Compliance Engineer

📋 Description

• Translate regulatory requirements into clear technical specs for engineering teams.
• Partner with product/engineering to design, build, and maintain compliance-related systems and controls.
• Review technical implementations for regulatory gaps, and own remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain compliance analytics, data quality controls, data reconciliation processes to support monitoring, regulatory reporting, and audit readiness.
• Serve as the technical subject-matter expert during regulatory exams, audits, and third-party assessments.
• Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements in the US and key international markets, and proactively surface changes that require engineering action.

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in compliance engineering, fintech compliance, or a similar technical role.
• Working knowledge of US financial regulations: BSA, AML, KYC, OFAC, and FinCEN.
• Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring systems, identity verification workflows, or watchlist screening tools.
• Ability to read and reason about code (Python, SQL, or similar).
• Experience translating regulatory language into technical requirements or acceptance criteria.
• Experience using SQL, data analytics, and reconciliation techniques to validate compliance controls and support regulatory reporting.
