📋 Description

  • Research and resolve payroll tax compliance issues across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Review, track, and respond to payroll tax notices, agency inquiries, and related correspondence.
  • Assist with state/local payroll tax registrations, updates, closures, and amendments.
  • Partner with payroll leaders, tax agencies, and providers to gather information and resolve items.
  • Maintain organized documentation of tax notices, registrations, and communications.
  • Reconcile payroll tax accounts, balances, and filing or payment issues.

🎯 Requirements

  • Prior payroll tax experience required, preferably in a multi-state payroll environment.
  • Experience researching and resolving payroll tax notices and agency correspondence.
  • Familiarity with state/local payroll tax registrations and withholding accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance concepts, including withholding and unemployment.
  • Experience working with payroll systems, payroll tax service providers, or third-party payroll platforms preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple open issues simultaneously.
