Data Engineer

📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain curated datasets and data models for metrics and dashboards.
• Own metric definitions end-to-end from discovery to production and visualization.
• Build and maintain executive dashboards and self-serve reporting tools for stakeholders.
• Partner with data science, product, and engineering to translate questions into data assets.
• Establish and enforce data quality via testing, documentation, and monitoring.
• Drive adoption of consistent data modeling patterns, naming conventions, and documentation.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in analytics or data engineering focused on curated consumer datasets.
• 3+ years designing, developing, and maintaining robust data models from structured and unstructured sources.
• 3+ years writing accurate and efficient SQL.
• Experience designing data models for diverse use cases, including experimentation.
• Fluency in Python or another language with solid version control and CI/CD practices.
• Experience building executive dashboards and reports with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar).
• Strong business acumen; partner with data scientists and product managers to translate questions into metrics.
• Excellent communication; bridge technical and business teams.
• Desire to work with passionate people who care about solving challenging problems to improve Discord.
