Data Platform Engineering Manager

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of database engineers, including supervision, workload prioritization
• Own the operational data store estate (OLTP and NoSQL across MS SQL, Cosmos, and equivalents) and
• Manage transformation and data movement using ADF, Airflow, and replacement of HVR/SSIS approaches.
• Operate the analytical data platform, including OneLake and Bronze/Silver/Gold tiers.
• Define standards for GitOps schema management, IaC provisioning, and lifecycle automation; author
• Drive automation of database change management (e.g., Liquibase) and environment refreshes.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Data Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years in database administration, data engineering, or data platform operations.
• 5+ years in a team lead or management role with direct people management.
• Hands-on experience with multiple database platforms, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, Managed
• Experience with database redundancy and high availability (Always On, geo-replication).
• Cloud data platform experience (Azure SQL, Fabric, or Databricks) and ETL/ELT.
