Database Reliability Engineer

📋 Description

• Ownership of health, uptime and performance of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
• Partner with internal customers to understand challenges and plan improvements
• Develop automation for routine tasks using Python, Bash, or similar scripting
• Engineer, deploy, maintain, and own all aspects of database monitoring
• Provide comprehensive and fully vetted backup restore solutions
• Engineer, implement, and routinely test disaster recovery (DR) strategies

🎯 Requirements

• BS in CS/IS/Engineering + 8+ yrs IT; or 5+ yrs in DB reliability/DevOps in lieu of degree
• 5+ yrs optimizing SQL queries and data replication
• 5+ yrs developing monitoring tools and tuning databases
• Expertise in at least two DB technologies (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Experience with highly available solutions and clustered environments
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
