Design Systems Lead

📋 Description

• Define the long-term vision and roadmap for the design system.
• Partner with design, engineering, PM, and AI teams on scalable components.
• Establish governance and contribution models for faster, high-quality work.
• Evolve the system toward machine-readable, AI-enabled foundations.
• Mentor a design systems team and raise ownership across groups.
• Stay hands-on, contributing to architecture, docs, patterns, and guidelines.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of product design with design systems ownership and leadership
• Proven success scaling design systems across multiple product teams
• Deep understanding of component architecture, tokens, accessibility, and design-to-dev workflows
• Strong product judgment to prioritize high-impact work and tradeoffs
• Experience partnering with frontend engineers and engineering leadership
• Comfort owning strategy and execution in a fast-moving startup
