Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Supported/Community Living Program

📋 Description

• Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including community-based supports.
• Help the individual set and achieve goals; assist in overcoming personal barriers.
• Communicate with clients and their families to understand their interests, skills, abilities
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
• Duties may periodically include personal care assistance and support with prescribed medications.

🎯 Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle is required for the Supported/Community
• Prefer personal or professional experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful to problem solve without direct supervision.
• Dependable, adaptable, flexible.
• Effective communication skills: reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, attire, and personal presentation when interacting
