Director, Compensation

📋 Description

• Own the design & delivery of Instacart's broad-based compensation programs end-to-end.
• Lead a high-performing compensation team and set clear direction and standards.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and senior leaders to provide actionable recommendations.
• Oversee executive offers, retention decisions, and pay equity discussions.
• Lead international expansion compensation work for new markets.
• Balance people strategy with business needs to attract and motivate talent.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, with at least 3 years in people management.
• Proven experience supporting large R&D or Engineering functions and advising VP/SVP-level
• Deep expertise in equity compensation design and strategy within tech environments.
• Experience building compensation programs at scale: job architecture, market pricing, cycles, and
• Ability to transform data into clear recommendations for executives; proficient with spreadsheets
• Interest in how AI/tech can enhance compensation work and willingness to implement solutions.
