Director, Data Science/ML

📋 Description

• Define and execute the product data science strategy to unlock ML-driven product improvements.
• Own end-to-end ML lifecycle: framing, features, training, deployment, monitoring.
• Build and lead a high-performing team delivering strategic insights and production ML systems.
• Partner with Product, Growth, Engineering, and UX to influence the roadmap with data-driven ML.
• Be a thought leader in personalization, recommendations, causal inference, and generative AI.
• Translate complex product challenges into clear data science problems with measurable success criteria.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in data science, with at least 5 in leadership roles managing data scientists or ML engineers.
• Proven track record deploying ML models in production (personalization, recommender systems, predictive modeling).
• Deep expertise in experimentation and causal inference (A/B testing, incrementality, statistical rigor).
• Strong product sense and business acumen; translate opportunities into data initiatives.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and ML Ops tools (MLflow, Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Experience in consumer tech, e-commerce, or marketplace businesses.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence product strategy.
