Director, Design Strategy; Competency Manager

📋 Description

• Directly manage assigned employees within the Design Strategy competency.
• Lead performance management, coaching, development planning, reviews, and promotions.
• Support engagement, retention, career growth, and professional development.
• Establish and maintain competency standards, tools, frameworks, methodologies.
• Partner with Project Team Leadership and Operations to staffing and competency growth.
• Operate as a Director-level Design Strategy practitioner and coach for senior colleagues.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communication, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
• 15+ years in design strategy, service design, experience design, or related fields.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Demonstrated people management, including performance management and coaching.
• Experience mentoring senior practitioners and fostering a learning culture.
• Strong portfolio showing design execution and strategic decision making.
