📋 Description

• Define and drive the long-term vision for indexing and retrieval across Core, Ads, Shopping.
• Lead cross-org modernization of indexing architecture, real-time and incremental retrieval.
• Partner with engineering, product, ML, and infra to align priorities and improve retrieval.
• Raise the technical bar with architecture reviews and platform changes.
• Build shared platform capabilities: metrics, tuning surfaces, debugging workflows.
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders across teams.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep expertise in large-scale indexing, search, or retrieval systems (real-time/incremental).
• Strong technical leadership with cross-team influence and decision making.
• Proven track record modernizing architectures and rolling out shared platforms.
• Systems thinking linking platform design to product quality, ML needs, and health.
• Excellent communication to distill complex topics for all audiences.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
