Director, Engineering - Merchant & Pay

📋 Description

• Lead with hive and company outcomes over local optimization, leaning in wherever risk or
• Own the technical strategy and multi-year roadmap for merchant- and partner-facing systems
• Manage and grow a team of engineering managers and their teams across the Merchant & Pay hive.
• Create a safe, collaborative environment, name problems, invite open discussion, and help teams
• Raise the bar on quality, performance, and engineering standards across all owned services and
• Champion the integration of generative AI into engineering workflows to improve delivery speed

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing managers, with a track record
• Led teams supporting merchant-, partner-, and/or payments-facing systems, or comparable B2B2C /
• Comfortable designing and reviewing solutions in AWS, with pragmatic tradeoffs between performance
• Track record scaling platforms and partner integrations supporting millions of users and
• Experience integrating generative AI into engineering workflows.
• Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex tradeoffs
