Director, Legal, UK & Europe

📋 Description

• Lead commercial legal matters across UK & Europe, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contracts.
• Develop and lead regional legal and compliance framework aligned with UK/EU regulations.
• Provide strategic employment law advice across UK & Europe; support organisational change and ER issues.
• Oversee UK & Europe disputes, litigation and external advisers; manage external spend.
• Advise leadership on governance, risk and decision-making; enable commercially sound decisions.
• Hybrid role: based in the UK (Reading) with ~3 days in the office; occasional travel.

🎯 Requirements

• Essential: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or Barrister with current practising certificate.
• Essential: Significant PQE in private practice or in-house roles advising senior executives in an international environment.
• Desired: Senior in-house experience in international/tech organisation; cross-border matters.
• Knowledge/Skills: Proficient in legal research methodologies and resources.
• Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and EU data protection.
• Personal: Absolute discretion, integrity and sound professional judgement.
