Director of Engineering, Economy ML

📋 Description

• Define and lead Economy ML strategy across modeling, recommendations, search, and pricing.
• Build and scale a high-performing ML org, including managers and senior ICs.
• Lead investments in next-gen ML systems: large-scale recommendations and foundation models.
• Establish scalable ML practices across experimentation, feature engineering, model serving.
• Drive adoption of modern ML architectures: transformers, retrieval, multi-modal.
• Partner with senior leadership to align investments with long-term strategy.

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience leading teams focused on ML, recommendation systems, search, ranking, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong technical depth in ML systems, infrastructure, and modern ML architectures.
• Experience with recommendation systems, marketplace/e-commerce ML, search, or ads systems.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, multi-modal models, or foundation model architectures.
• Experience operating at large scale, including high-throughput inference, distributed training, or real-time personalization.
