Director of Software

📋 Description

• Lead the software engineering org across 3-4 teams of managers and ICs
• Own integrated software performance: deterministic flight software, control laws, and AI
• Manage simulation and HIL infrastructure that scales across the program and stays flight-like
• Close the GNC analytics-to-flight loop so anomalies trace to model gaps or bugs
• Develop leaders across software domains and avoid over-investing in your home discipline
• Defend the HW/SW boundary between flight software, ground tooling, and hardware
• Partner with Hardware, Systems Engineering, and Program Management to make software a peer of hardware

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ yrs in real-time embedded, GNC, or flight software; led 4+ managers
• Deterministic flight software: timing, scheduling, fault containment, C++ on RTOS
• GNC leadership: engage with control laws, estimators, actuators, and failures
• Built sim and HIL infra that caught bugs pre-flight; improved post-mortems
• Experience leading heterogeneous software teams across domains
• Clear HW/SW boundary views; on-orbit vs ground compute
