📋 Description

• Cost Efficiency: Migrate workloads to EKS; self-host OpenSearch to cut infra costs.
• Ingress Convergence: Consolidate to a single EKS-managed ALB per shard.
• Coverage & Bench Depth: Cross-train to cover Networking, OpenSearch, and Terraform.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Align infra planning with Product, AI, Enterprise, and Security.
• Automation: Deliver automated shard builds with Backstage.
• Reliability: Harden ingress patterns and Terraform guardrails to reduce incidents.
• Roadmap Ownership: Deliver cloud roadmap tied to AI and Enterprise goals.
• People Leadership: Lead a senior-heavy, distributed team across US, Canada, and Europe.
• Vendor Management: Manage multi-million AWS spend and contractor oversight.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep AWS infra mastery: EKS, networking, and Terraform at scale.
• Strategic roadmap ownership: 6–12 month cloud roadmaps tied to outcomes.
• Cross-team influence: Partnerships across Product, Security, SRE, and DB.
• Application-level curiosity: Understand product and extend ownership beyond infra.
• People leadership at scale: Experience growing distributed teams across FTE/contractor.
• Operational rigor: On-call, incidents, and RCA follow-through.
• Security-first instincts: Auth enforcement, network isolation, shard boundaries.
• AI & automation mindset: DevSecOps, AI-assisted IaC, automation.
• AI/ML infra experience: GPU orchestration or model serving infra.
• Education: BS/MS in CS, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience: 10+ years in infrastructure/platform engineering with director leadership.
