Distinguished Engineer, Machine Learning Systems – Economy

📋 Description

• Set technical direction for ML systems powering core economy experiences.
• Build and evolve ML training, serving, and evaluation pipelines (including GenAI).
• Partner with GenAI teams on embeddings, avatar generation, and RAG in economy surfaces
• Lead ML system performance improvements: low-latency serving, GPU training, cost-aware inference
• Guide ML pipelines, online feature stores, and experimentation platforms for predictive/generative use cases
• Collaborate with EMs, tech leads, and product partners to align architecture with business priorities

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering or ML infra; focus on large-scale ML systems
• Deep expertise in recommender/ranking infrastructure and real-time personalization
• Hands-on with Generative AI: transformers, LLMs, embeddings, or RAG
• Experience with distributed training, model deployment, and GPU workflows
• Strong ML system architecture: data pipelines, feature stores, inference optimization, experimentation tooling
• Systems-first mindset: scale, cost, performance, reliability
