Distributed Systems Engineer, Analytical Database Platform

📋 Description

• Develop and implement new platform components to improve analytics database performance.
• Add more database clusters to scale data volume from Cloudflare products.
• Monitor and maintain performance and reliability; troubleshoot issues.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks in the analytics platform, including query tuning.
• Collaborate with the ClickHouse open-source community to add features upstream.
• Collaborate with other Cloudflare teams to meet data needs and enable data-driven decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in software development with distributed systems and databases.
• Go, Python, or C++ programming skills.
• Strong SQL knowledge; database design, optimization, tuning.
• Solid CS foundation: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, concurrency.
• Collaborative, cross-team communication within Cloudflare.
• Experience with ClickHouse, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
