Engineering Manager, Cloud & Data Security

📋 Description

• Lead and grow a security engineering team for cloud infra, data security, IAM, and access controls.
• Define and drive the team's roadmap aligned with security priorities and automation.
• Partner with Infrastructure, Data Platform, and App Security to embed security in how Airbnb builds and operates.
• Guide architecture decisions across AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, data infra, and identity systems.
• Coach engineers on career growth and technical development to retain top talent.
• Communicate security direction, risk posture, and progress to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years engineering; 5+ in security; 3+ in people mgmt.
• Led security engineering teams on cloud infra, data, or platform security at scale.
• Deep cloud security: AWS (or similar), IAM, network, secrets, workload identity.
• Strong judgment across Kubernetes, containers, IaC, and cloud-native controls.
• Familiar with data platforms security: access controls, encryption, governance.
• Proven coaching: performance mgmt and career growth.
