Engineering Manager, Data Tooling

📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of engineers
• Own and execute a roadmap for shared data tooling and platforms
• Set technical direction for platform capabilities that turn data into workflows, dashboards
• Improve the developer and user experience for discovering and governing data products
• Drive initiatives to reduce toil, improve data quality and freshness, and optimize costs
• Create alignment across teams by communicating priorities and measurable outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading engineers and developing high-performing teams
• Experience with data catalogs, lineage systems, data-quality, observability, or metadata services
• Familiarity with agentic or AI-assisted workflows for data discovery or platform operations
• Experience building or operating shared platforms and frameworks for multiple teams
• Experience partnering with Data Science, experimentation, ML, product, or infra teams
• Strong product thinking and ability to communicate tradeoffs to technical and non-technical
