Engineering Manager, ML

📋 Description

• Lead a team building infrastructure to train, test, and evaluate ML models.
• Define technical direction for training and evaluation at scale.
• Work closely with researchers to turn latency, quality, and cost tradeoffs into infrastructure.
• Debug alongside your team and ship reliable systems in production.
• Hire and develop engineers through coaching and high-leverage projects.

🎯 Requirements

• You've led engineering teams building infrastructure that trains, evaluates, or serves ML models in production.
• Strong infrastructure and distributed systems fundamentals: reliability and performance under real load.
• Comfortable writing code, reviewing PRs, and using Cursor to move fast.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity: ask the right questions, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and help the team find a path forward.
• Track record of hiring and developing engineers who are better than you were at their stage.
• Bonus: RL training infrastructure, eval frameworks, or simulated environments.
