Engineering Manager, Site Defense

📋 Description

• Lead, hire, onboard, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers across Transport and Site Defense.
• Partner with senior ICs to define strategy for global traffic and edge/CDN.
• Drive migrations including CDN, inter-cluster load balancer, and Thrift to gRPC.
• Establish clear priority frameworks balancing KTLO, roadmap, incidents, and migrations.
• Build and maintain an operational model with on-call, SLOs, dashboards, and postmortems.
• Coach engineers on design, planning, and growth; foster metrics-driven quality and ownership.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of people-management for software, infra, SRE, or security teams.
• 5+ years building or operating internet-scale infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Strong technical judgment in Kubernetes, Envoy, gRPC, CDNs, DNS, and observability.
• Experience with edge security, bot defense, DDoS mitigation, WAF, or abuse detection.
• Experience with Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, or similar CDN/edge providers.
• Hands-on software engineering in Go, Rust, Python, Java, or C++.
