European VAT Manager (EU)

📋 Description

• Manage end-to-end VAT compliance for Volta's European entities
• Oversee VAT registrations in new jurisdictions with local advisors
• Monitor changes in EU and local VAT rules and update processes
• Ensure VAT is correctly applied across invoicing and intercompany billing
• Lead or support VAT audits and respond to tax authorities
• Identify process improvements and automation to streamline VAT

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in VAT/indirect tax, including in-house multi-jurisdictional or Big 4
• Strong technical knowledge of EU VAT rules across multiple European jurisdictions
• Professional tax or accounting qualification (CTA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) preferred
• Experience managing VAT registrations, filings, and audits with tax authorities or local advisors
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with ERP/billing systems for VAT treatment
• Excellent communication skills to explain VAT requirements to non-tax stakeholders
