Facility-Fee Emergency Department Medical Coder

📋 Description

• Review ED records to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS codes, modifiers
• Assign facility E/M levels per ED guidelines and ACEP tool
• Analyze nursing/physician/ancillary docs for complete coding
• Apply coding guidelines, CMS rules, NCCI edits, payer needs
• Review for proper procedural services and injections/infusions
• Identify doc deficiencies and escalate for clarification

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years facility-fee outpatient coding in ED
• Injection/Infusion experience required
• Active AAPC or AHIMA certification
• Remote work ability
• Epic experience preferred
• Other facility-fee/physician-fee coding a plus
