Forward Deployed Engineer

📋 Description

• Build at the customer site: write production-grade agents and data pipelines.
• Work in unfamiliar territory, fast; ramp quickly and build on existing code.
• Own the technical deliverable from design to production.
• Be the Redpanda technical voice with the customer’s engineers.
• Drive toward exit from day one; document and hand off.
• Feed learnings back to Product and Engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• Engineering depth: production software, backend, data pipelines, APIs.
• Agent and integration experience with LLM APIs.
• Ability to operate in any environment; read unfamiliar code.
• Customer-facing communication with the customer’s engineers.
• Shipped at a customer site or deployment context.
• Bonus: forward-deployed or customer-embedded engineering.
• Bonus: streaming/real-time data systems (Kafka, Flink, Redpanda).
• Bonus: regulated industries or air-gapped environments.
