Forward Deployed Engineer - ML

📋 Description

• Partner with AI companies to optimize production AI workloads on Modal.
• Contribute to open-source projects (SGLang) and publish technical content.
• Collaborate with product and sales teams as engineer and product stakeholder.
• Build trusted relationships with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, ML leads.
• Conduct technical demos, experiments, and POCs that show Modal's advantages.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of professional ML engineering experience, incl. inference optimization, training, GPU programming, or ML infra.
• Familiar with serving (vLLM, SGLang) and training toolchains (slime, verl, TRL).
• Strong communicator who can discuss architecture and tradeoffs with leadership.
• Genuine interest in working directly with customers to solve problems.
• Bonus: side projects, open-source contributions, or published ML/systems work.
• Willing to work in-person in Stockholm.
