Forward Deployed Engineer, Professional Services

📋 Description

• Embedded in the customer's tech team; operate within their tools and change-management processes.
• Follow the customer's change-management process for changes; ensure risk mitigation.
• Design, configure, and optimize Cloudflare solutions in the customer environment.
• Implement changes, build prototypes, automate, and troubleshoot in real time.
• Provide architectural guidance and roadmaps; deliver best-practice recommendations.
• Produce designs: HLDs/LLDs, deployment and migration plans.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role.
• Expertise in one focus area: Applications, Network, or Zero Trust/SASE, with enterprise-scale work.
• Leadership & mentorship experience; ability to run workshops and mentor junior staff.
• Strong networking foundation: OSI, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP.
• Hands-on with Terraform and scripting (Python, JavaScript, Bash).
• Project/program management; manage priorities and deliver in fast-moving environments.
