Founding Engineer

📋 Description

• Ship a feature end to end: Node/TypeScript API, React frontend, tests.
• Pair with the CTO on how engineers think about columns and data models.
• Improve extraction or retrieval quality in the Python ML/RAG workers.
• Sit in on a design-partner call and watch engineers use your work.
• Make pragmatic calls on tech debt: what to fix now and why.
• Work on the full stack in a small polyglot team.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years shipping and owning production systems.
• Backend experience with Node.js/TypeScript or Python in production.
• Distributed systems fundamentals: async queues, event-driven workflows.
• Ability to keep things simple under pressure and judge shortcuts.
• Genuine product sense; user-first thinking.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical teams.
