Founding Performance Engineer

📋 Description

• Diagnose and fix performance bottlenecks in code, media pipelines, and infra
• Build tooling for benchmarking, regression tracking, and performance testing
• Optimize concurrency, caching, batching, and scheduling across core workflows
• Improve GPU and compute resource utilization
• Design clean interfaces for complex performance-critical systems
• Collaborate with product to make improvements feel seamless to users

🎯 Requirements

• Strong grasp of systems fundamentals: latency, throughput, memory, I/O
• Experience improving performance in production software
• Proficiency in C++ or a low-level language with backend skills
• Ability to measure rigorously before optimizing and explain tradeoffs
• Comfortable using AI tools to speed up work while using judgment to solve problems
• Must be on-site in San Francisco, CA
