Fullstack Software Engineer (x/f/m) - Backend Platform

📋 Description

• Own the backend building blocks every Alan product depends on, and make them simple enough that
• Own the events pipeline: how components and services communicate asynchronously (Postgres outbox
• Own data replication between services: publish read-only tables and keep local, fresh copies for
• Own tools to take capabilities out of the monolith: service templates, APIs between services
• Own the shared runtime: queues, cache, transaction layers with their limits, SLOs, and headroom.
• Own the backend direction: establish rules for building backends at Alan with other engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering, with code other teams depend on: libraries, frameworks, pipelines
• Experience with distributed systems: events/messaging (delivery guarantees, ordering, idempotence
• In-depth PostgreSQL experience: transactions, locks, replication, query plans.
• Experience splitting a monolith or building services while keeping production running.
• Ability to measure before optimizing, and set SLOs and alerts for what you own.
• English working proficiency (French not required).
