GNC Engineer II - Navigation

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and tune state estimation algorithms, such as extended and error-state Kalman
• Develop sensor fusion architectures that combine IMU, GNSS, magnetometer, barometric and air-data
• Develop sensor fault detection and isolation, integrity monitoring, and redundancy management, and
• Analyze observability, filter consistency, and navigation error budgets to inform requirements and
• Develop sensor error models (bias, scale factor, misalignment, noise, latency) and characterize
• Support sensor selection, mounting, alignment, and calibration, including magnetometer hard- and

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a
• 2+ years of industry experience in GNC, navigation, or state estimation, or a Master’s or PhD with
• Strong foundation in estimation theory, including Kalman filtering (linear, extended, error-state)
• Solid understanding of rigid-body kinematics, attitude representations (quaternions, direction
• Hands-on experience designing and tuning an estimator on real sensor data such as IMU, GNSS
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
