Government Partnerships Communications Lead

📋 Description

• Develop and execute plans to educate press and policymakers about OpenAI gov partnerships.
• Build proactive campaigns and customer stories showing AI improves public services.
• Lead comms across cybersecurity, biodefense, national security, science, and state/local gov.
• Build relations with national/state/local, tech, policy, and enterprise media; manage inbound requests.
• Partner with Global Affairs, public-sector go-to-market, legal, product, research, safety, and security.
• Provide counsel to senior leaders for interviews, speeches, events, and other public moments.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in professional communications and media relations, incl. government or enterprise tech.
• Strong track record driving media campaigns in support of policy or business priorities.
• Experience translating complex technical and policy work into clear external narratives.
• Proven success with press, executives, government partners, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong political/policy judgment, ownership, and comfort in fast-paced, unstructured environments.
