Head of Compliance, EU

📋 Description

• Lead and develop Bybit EU's independent Compliance function as the company scales.
• Design and maintain a comprehensive EU compliance framework (MiCAR, MiFID II, AML/CFT, sanctions).
• Act as Compliance Officer and main liaison with Austrian and European regulators.
• Advise senior leadership on regulatory obligations and risks.
• Develop and manage the Compliance Monitoring Plan with ongoing reviews.
• Establish and oversee compliance risk assessments and remediation of findings.
• Provide independent review of new products and outsourcing for regulatory compliance from inception.
• Oversee regulatory reporting and support inspections, audits, and licensing.
• Develop, implement, and improve policies and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, AML, Product, Operations, Marketing, Tech, and Internal Audit.
• Review marketing materials for EU regulatory compliance.
• Build and foster a strong compliance culture through training and guidance to employees and management.
• Lead and develop the Compliance team with scalable processes and governance.

🎯 Requirements

• University degree in Law, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; certifications are a plus.
• 8+ years in compliance within financial services/fintech with leadership.
• Strong knowledge of Austrian/EU regulations: MiCAR, MiFID II, E-Money PSD2, AML/CFT, sanctions.
• Experience building/enhancing compliance frameworks in regulated financial institutions.
• Experience with regulators, inspections, licensing, and supervisory engagement.
• Strong governance, monitoring, regulatory reporting, risk management, and internal controls knowledge.
• Balance regulatory expectations with business objectives with independence.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Leadership in developing high-performing compliance teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; translate regulations into practical guidance.
• English fluency; German a plus.
• High integrity, sound judgment, able to operate independently in a regulated environment.
