Head of Core AI

📋 Description

• Core AI builds models, agents, and training systems for physics.
• Set the roadmap and own the AI research portfolio to improve PSI's physics AI.
• Own training and evaluation infrastructure; ensure trusted results.
• Stay technical; act as a player-coach performing hands-on work and code reviews.
• Partner with Applied AI and Engineering to turn Core AI work into products.
• Hire and develop world-class talent and raise the bar as Core AI grows.

🎯 Requirements

• Track record leading AI research teams that shipped into production or field-recognized results.
• At least three years of direct people management experience.
• Deep technical fluency in modern ML: reinforcement learning, agentic systems, large-scale training.
• Publications at top ML venues or AI research artifacts adopted by the community.
• AI research judgment under commercial constraints.
• Nice to have: Hands-on experience applying agents or RL to science or complex domains.
