Head of Department, Lighting and Special Effects – ALIZÉ

📋 Description

• In collaboration with the Technical Director, manage the Lighting & Special Effects dept during shows.
• Research, purchase, install, test, troubleshoot, integrate, and inspect show equipment.
• Oversee weekly task lists and crew scheduling with guidance from the Technical Director.
• Handle HR/administrative tasks: scheduling, onboarding, hiring, discipline, etc.
• Manage budgets and forecasting for departmental needs and inventory.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and train the team on best practices.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in Lighting/Special Effects on large-scale production.
• 3+ years leadership experience.
• Strong GrandMA3 lighting console knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD and VectorWorks a plus.
• Understanding of AC/DC electricity and basic electronics.
• Fluent in English; able to communicate via headset; English is operating language.
• Right to work in Germany for Cirque du Soleil.
