Head of Engineering, Defense OS

📋 Description

• Build and lead DefenseOS engineering org; hire and grow a multi-disciplinary team.
• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for WarshipOS pillars.
• Lead zonal architecture; design zone controllers and centralized compute for HM&E.
• Stand up software/data platform; middleware, APIs, and SDKs.
• Set engineering best practices: architecture, reviews, CI/CD, HIL tests.
• Own program execution; plan releases and track milestones.

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years in software/systems engineering; 6+ years leading teams.
• Experience with real-time/mission-critical platforms; middleware, data transport, APIs/SDKs.
• Hardware/software fluency across compute architecture and sensor integration.
• Built gateways/adapters to unify data planes.
• Own full lifecycle under reliability, latency, and field-readiness constraints.
• Cross-functional leadership with product, hardware, operations, customers, and leadership.
