Head of Finance

📋 Description

• Own the general ledger and the insurance balance sheet in NetSuite, ensuring accurate accounting
• Lead and execute the month-end and year-end close, producing management accounts (P&L, balance
• Prepare and submit annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102) and the applicable Gibraltar
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts, bank and fiduciary accounts, and intercompany balances
• Act as the bridge between Finance and Actuarial: understand, validate and integrate technical
• Support Solvency II reporting as applied in Gibraltar, including inputs to QRTs, the SFCR and the

🎯 Requirements

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• A proven track record in insurance carrier (balance sheet) accounting. You understand the mechanics
• Demonstrated experience working closely with actuaries, and a strong conceptual grasp of reserving
• Familiarity with Solvency II reporting (QRT, SFCR, ORSA) and statutory accounts preparation
• Demonstrable experience building, testing and enforcing internal financial controls.
• Experience managing and developing direct reports in a lean environment, and managing external
