Head, Product Control & Accounting

📋 Description

• Act as technical accounting partner to Product & Engineering for new products
• Write memos on revenue (IFRS 15), IFRS 9, and related treatments
• Design and maintain the chart of accounts for products
• Map each customer journey stage to correct GL treatment
• Review specs pre-launch to flag accounting gaps
• Own reconciliation between product data and the GL
• Design controls around new product flows and document them
• Maintain living accounting treatment documentation per product
• Partner with Finance, Internal Audit, and external auditors

🎯 Requirements

• ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with 8+ years post-qualification
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 and IFRS 9
• Translate product designs into accounting treatment and GL
• Comfortable talking to engineers and product managers
• Payments/fintech/banking experience with ledger systems
• Designing or restructuring a chart of accounts for multi-product platforms
• Regulatory reporting exposure tied to product design (CBN, FCA, CBK)
• Agile product/engineering team experience
