Infrastructure Design Engineer

📋 Description

• Architect HPC clusters via whitespace layouts, rack placement, and high-density airflow.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate power and cooling in whitespace.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering to define physical layer requirements for AI interconnects.
• Advise DC build teams/contractors to ensure build-out matches design specs and optimize performance.
• Develop and maintain CAD/BIM drawings, schematics, capacity models, and docs.
• Own capacity planning in whitespace through modeling growth and utilization.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in data center design or related infra with deep power, cooling, and network knowledge.
• Experience as owner's or resident engineer, reviewing drawings and contractor compliance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical (UPS, switchgear) and cooling (CRAC/CRAH) for high-density whitespace.
• Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit) for drawings and capacity models.
• Knowledge of TIA-942, Uptime Tier, ASHRAE guidelines, ANSI/BICSI; familiar with local codes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects across sites and coordinate with MEP engineers, GC, and vendors; willing to travel.
