Inpatient Audit Specialist PRN

📋 Description

• Conduct inpatient facility coding audits according to defined scopes of work, including onboarding
• Provide clear, concise, and well-supported rationale for identified coding changes, referencing
• Identify coding quality, compliance, and workflow opportunities while providing meaningful
• Deliver coder education through the auditing process, helping reinforce accurate coding practices
• Stay current with applicable regulatory and coding changes and incorporate updated requirements
• Manage and prioritize multiple cases concurrently to maintain efficient workflows, quality

🎯 Requirements

• Bring at least 5 years of facility inpatient coding and/or inpatient auditing experience, with
• Hold a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential, which is required; RHIA or RHIT certification
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain a 95% DRG accuracy rate and consistently apply sound coding
• Have strong knowledge of MS-DRG and/or APR-DRG methodologies and experience reviewing inpatient
• Possess excellent query-writing skills and the ability to develop concise, well-supported
• Experience with spinal cases or spinal auditing is a plus.
