K-8 Spanish Language Arts (SLA) Specialist

📋 Description

• Review Spanish ELA lessons for K–8 and ensure standards alignment.
• Collaborate with instructional design to develop scope and sequence for Spanish ELA across K–8.
• Assess linguistic appropriateness of lesson design, vocabulary, and text for each grade band.
• Provide actionable feedback on lesson materials for content writers and designers.
• Evaluate accuracy of Spanish content, including grammar, syntax, and cultural use.
• Ensure biliteracy, heritage language learners, and cultural responsiveness.

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Bilingual Education, Spanish Language Arts, Linguistics, or related field.
• Bilingual or dual-language teaching authorization preferred.
• Native or near-native Spanish proficiency; training in linguistics or language arts preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of K–8 classroom teaching delivering Spanish language arts.
• Demonstrated expertise implementing Spanish ELA standards in elementary/middle school.
• Experience with curriculum development, lesson review, or instructional coaching in bilingual contexts.
