Lead Backend Engineer (AI & Back Office)

📋 Description

• Design and build scalable backend for Midnite’s internal back office platform.
• Lead and mentor a small engineering team while staying hands-on in delivery.
• Write production code and use AI-assisted development approaches to accelerate work.
• Deploy AI-powered tools for engineering and business use cases.
• Explore LLM APIs, agents, MCP servers, and RAG patterns where valuable.
• Collaborate with Product to shape requirements and delivery plans.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years backend engineering at senior/lead level.
• Experience mentoring engineers in hands-on leadership.
• Built internal platforms or back office tooling.
• Production experience integrating LLMs or AI APIs.
• Strong PostgreSQL or similar database knowledge.
• Proficient in Python; cloud, CI/CD and observability knowledge.
