Lead C++ Engineer, Animal Guidance (Embedded)

📋 Description

• Own the guidance firmware, the virtual fencing logic on our collars that decides when and how to
• Design guidance algorithms, state machines and geometry behind virtual fences and paths
• Implement and test guidance systems, with real constraints around power, memory, and reliability
• Debug hard, intermittent, field-only problems using logs, telemetry, and system understanding
• Collaborate with firmware, backend, frontend engineers, designers, and animal experts
• Contribute to quality and reliability of guidance system, including tooling and patterns

🎯 Requirements

• Solid experience shipping software for resource-constrained systems (embedded devices, consoles, or
• Strong C++ fundamentals and software design patterns
• Comfort with tight constraints: concurrency, limited memory and stack, and real-time behavior
• Good judgement under uncertainty: inaccurate sensor data, unexpected behavior, unclear requirements
• Ability to reason about geometry, probability, and timing
• Strong sense of ownership and root-cause understanding
