Lead Engineer – Ground Control Station (GCS) & Hardware Simulator

📋 Description

• Lead Engineer for GCS units and hardware simulators in Europe, owning hardware lifecycle from field
• Bridge software, mechanical design, and production partners to ensure robust, field-ready systems
• Own modular hardware architecture, ensuring maintainability, upgradability, and MIL-STD compliance.

🎯 Requirements

• Modular hardware design experience for rugged defence hardware (GCS, simulation racks).
• Proven proficiency in MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 testing and EMI/shock/vibration isolation.
• Hands-on prototyping, wiring, and assembly; CAD skills in 3D tools (SolidWorks or Siemens NX).
• Experience with integration of subsystems (HPC, rugged displays, RF datalinks, pilot interfaces).
• Familiarity with UAV systems and simulation environments (HIL, Pixhawk/PX4, ROS, flight simulators)
• English communication across multi-disciplinary teams; strong DFx and design-for-manufacturing
