Lead Engineer - Payments (d/f/m)

📋 Description

• Define and maintain backend API and checkout tech direction for performance and security.
• Drive payments roadmap with product focus; steer execution as requirements evolve.
• Mentor engineers; lead code reviews and performance reviews.
• Hands-on development in building our managed payments platform and services.
• Bridge between tech and business; lead cross-team collaboration across engineering and product.
• Oversee third-party payments integrations and compliance (Stripe/Adyen/Braintree).

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in software; 3+ years in lead/management.
• Hands-on payments/ecommerce/billing/checkout experience.
• Strong backend/API design; Go and TypeScript; adaptable to stack.
• Databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching, queues; cloud (AWS/GCP); Docker, Kubernetes.
• Bar-raiser leadership; ownership; excellent communication; mentor senior engineers.
• Nice-to-have: experience with subscription billing and financial ledgers.
