Lead Gateway Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead API gateway engineering for enterprise platforms (IBM webMethods & gov't target).
• Configure gateway routes, services, policies, certs, auth, rate limits, logging.
• Support API migration: inventory review, wave sequencing, rollback, cutover readiness.
• Implement gateway security: OAuth2/OIDC/SAML/JWT/mTLS, RBAC, token validation.
• Provide technical direction to Gateway Engineers on implementation and validation.
• Coordinate with architecture, cybersecurity, infra, network, identity, ServiceNow, CI/CD teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in API management, integration engineering, middleware or related enterprise work.
• 4+ years with enterprise API gateway products (e.g., Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft).
• Experience implementing or sustaining secure API gateway capabilities in production.
• API security patterns: OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, JWT, mTLS, API keys, RBAC, tokens.
• REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON/XML, HTTP/S, TLS, routing, policy enforcement.
• Production release support; change management, validation, rollback readiness, operational acceptance.
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
