Lead Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Engineer – Special Programs

📋 Description

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for prototype systems, incl. mechanisms, actuation
• Lead manufacturing and build planning for prototype hardware
• Support deployment and fielding of prototype systems
• Support rapid prototyping from concept to detailed design
• Own the mechanical design, manufacturing, and deployment discipline within Special Programs
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments of new opportunities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree a plus)
• Experience in aerospace/defense mechanical design and analysis (mechanisms/packaging)
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, DFM, and build/production planning
• Familiarity with launch/release/handling mechanism design and deployment logistics
• Ability to work across the full development lifecycle from concept to prototype
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
